India Sets Limits for Melamine in Milk and Milk Products

On 4 Aug 2015, India released WTO notification ferrous fumarate and folic acid tablets uses in urduGkandungan ferrous fumarate/SPS/N/IND/108 detailing amendments to the food Safety regulations and standards namely “Contapreparation of ferrous gluconateminants, ferrous fumarate heme or nonhemeToxins and Residues Regulations, 2011”. In addition, the limits of melamine in milk and milk products are also prescribed, 1.0mg/kg in powderedferro f tab infant formula, 0.15mg/kg in liquid infant formula milk and 2.5mg/kg in other foods respectively.
