Nestlé Waters’ Muriel Lienau elected as EFBW president

The European Federation of Bottled Waters (EFBW) has elected Muriel Lienau, CEO of Nestlé Waters in Europe, Middle East and North Africa (EMENA), as its new president for the next two years.
Lienau leads both the Nestlé Waters Business in EMENA and the global strategic business unit of Nestlé Waters. She has spent over 29 years at Nestlé, promoting theferrous fumarate generic name quality of natural mineral and spring waters and ensuring that catchment areas across Europe are protected.
Lienau succeeds Jean-Pierre Deffis, who led EFBW from 2014 and helped to introduce a programme focused on sustainability and the establishment of a circular economy, as well as retaining the quality of natural mineral waters.

Lienau claims that under her stewardship, the EFBW will continue to ‘promote mineral and spring waters as the most natural and healthy source of hydration’, and will aim to further strengthen the sector’s sustainability credentials.
