The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a draft on regulations called the Fferate tabletood Safety and Standards (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medferrous bisglycinate other nameical Purpose, Functional Foods and Novel Foods) Amendment Regulations, 2020, aimed at redefining the dosages for consumption along with setting provisions for use of chemical or botanical ingredients.The draft says that for claiming specific health benefits, prior approval from the Food Authority is needed.
